Sunday 26th July

Another week gone by.....

How has your week been?
My days and weeks just merge into one, anyone feel the same?   I am getting lots done slowly though

Sat down to the computer and saw this........ normally unless I'm at a friend Val's house who has a wonderful view I only normally see a quarter.

Lemon Drizzle Cake

I have great friends!
They tried a cake I had never made before with the above ingredients.
I have a  daughter-in-law trying to stave off stage 2 diabetes, a granddaughter on a doctors diet for gluten free and a granddaughter who is dairy free,

Val and Mark said the cake was lovely but then I was drinking tea and eating cake with them.
Jane said the texture was quite close as if it was stale.  I actually felt the same........  I will try making again as sometimes if you over beat that's what happens.

I found the recipe here

I finished my granddaughter's birthday present, she will be eleven in three weeks time.
I don't know if it was me but I cut each pieces correctly and double checked measurements but there was a mistake which was easy to correct.
The pattern is called Lisa the Unicorn by Elizabeth Hartman

A Tip:
I couldn't get a zip long enough.
I needed 24" zip, so two 12" had to do, stitched end-to-end works very well.

Sunday 19th July

Another week

For those who read last weeks post, I actually did go to Morrison's.  My friend Val asked me if I would like to go to the Garden Centre on Wednesday afternoon.  I said yes please as I haven't been out for a while, so with mask off I went, also went to Morrison's too late Wednesday afternoon.  I came home and had a shower and changed my clothes and waited for my friend to arrive with fish and chips which we eat together in the garden.  A very enjoyable evening.

I actually spent a day and half doing nothing.........  not sure why, but on the other days I started my granddaughter's birthday present - a cushion,

 Another Week

Is anyone still counting the weeks of the corona virus?  I still see my friends and go for walks too, I haven't been to places like Morrison's but have been in the back of my friend's car with the windows open and a mask.  Before I step into Morrison's I want to see my grandchildren which I will do in August so it'll be self isolating at least ten days before and then self isolating when I get back because I'm hoping to also see my other son so I'll be self isolating when I've seen him too.

I did a touch of "Make Do and Mend" as a favour for a friend.
This is his favourite shirt which has been relegated to the garden

Well it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be.
Mark was very happy he can now wear his favourite shirt a little longer!

My baked omelette for my lunch.
Left-over new potatoes, tomatoes and cheese with butter and ground pepper, heated up for about ten minutes then added eggs and baked till set.

This picture was coloured in by my nine year old grandson.  Not much you'd say but he has very bad autism.  It took him two hours.  We are all proud of him.
