Friday 19th February

Unexpected

Joining in with I live, I Love, I craft Scavenger Hunt

Two video calls from my son in New Zealand.  One last Sunday and one just now, both occasions, as I answered my 4year old granddaughter's beautiful smile saying Hello Nanny.  This morning for me was her opening parcels, book for her and the jumper for her brother.

This is unexpected too!

My friend knows I love Amaryllis bulbs. Big blousy show off of the bulb world.

This poor bulb had a bit of a rough start

I opened the box to find it had been packed upside down.

Turned it up right way and potted it up

And it grew......
Its very pretty though with white petals pink edges

Friday 5th February

First of all I would like to say a BIG Happy birthday to my youngest son 35 years old today

It snowed this week, but nothing spectacular.  I helped a friend to make marmalade.  It would have taken her all day if she'd attempted it on her own.  I'm part of her bubble as her husband has Parkinson's so she needed help.  I just helped to peel and squeeze the oranges she did the rest in the afternoon.  I haven't done much else this week just knitting and sewing.

8th February

Well where did last week go?
It was a particularly busy week.  I went to a friend Monday evening, Tuesday was Dentist in the morning and met Heather for coffee.  When I got home later that morning I prepared a lunch for Janice and I then we went to a Smocking class.   Something I have always wanted to learn.

Needle Case kit

The lady who took the class prepared a practice piece.
The kit comes with threads pre-gathered fabric and other fabrics to make the case.

Thursday I met Janice again and when to the flower club lunch.  We went to Foxes a hotel in Minehead.  We had Roast Gammon followed by chocolate cake.  A few years ago they did a TV series about Foxes.  Google "The Strangest Hotel" you can see it on YouTube.

And Friday went to Tiverton to Heathcoats.
Although my son lives in Tiverton I have never actually been..............
I went with my friend Jane and her friend.  Heathcoats has a history in the town and the National Trust now owns his house.  Built on a hill so he could see and make sure his workers were not late for work!
